Providers
The future of our state and our communities depends on our children. When they are well cared for and receive rich childhood experiences, they grow up to be happier, healthier, more productive adults. And isn’t that what we all want for our children?
You, as a child care provider, have a crucial role to play in their bright futures, and the Better Beginnings initiative is a good way to start.
Better Beginnings is the new name for the state’s Quality Rating Improvement System, administered by the Department of Human Services’s Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. This voluntary system requires increasing progress by providers in component areas (administration, administrator and staff qualifications, professional development, learning environment, facility assessment, and child health/development). Every child care provider along with their quality rating will be posted on the Better Beginnings website. This will serve as a crucial resource to parents, guardians and others as they make choices about who they want to be their child care provider.
We hope you will want to take advantage of this opportunity to partner with us in giving our children what they need most: better beginnings for a bright future.
